Pink!

Pink!

Originally uploaded by BlueEyezz

Finally, something for me. I’m now wearing a black dress to my brother’s wedding. It’s sleeveless and I needed something to cover my shoulders. I’m making this adorable little shrug and I’m soooo excited about it!

The first run was with a black yarn (see previous entry) and I hated how it was turning out. I was doing the lace ALL WRONG at first and I frogged it. I love this color of pink though and I love love love love love this yarn. It’s so freaking soft and stretchy. I think I’ve made it a tad small, but I think with the stretchiness of it all, it’s going to work out JUST fine.

Erm…

I haven’t knitted in over a week. Except to frog the ribbed bolero I started (and I was half done with). I’m restarting it in a different yarn. A different more expensive, but softer yarn. I tried using Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice. Barf. It was too scratchy. Then I decided to change what dress I was wearing to the wedding. I’m now wearing a black dress, so a black shrug was overkill. It’s amazing how fast you can frog a project that took you so many hours to create.

I’m instead using Suri Merino (Plymouth), the suri alpaca/fine merino blend. It’s soft. Cozy. And pink.  And it will be air-i-er than the black one, meaning it will be great for those late summer evenings….

I’ll actually post a picture of that later. I took one. Lol….

whatever!

I’ve had this web-blog up for my knitting for about two months now and I’m nearing 600 hits/visitors. I’m all excited, as silly as that sounds. :) I don’ t have tons of content yet, but will be adding more pictures and patterns and things soon. There are about a TRILLION different patterns I’m looking to try someday, I’d love to show them to you. :)

I actually just finished a pair of wristwarmers for myself today. You know the pink pair I made an entry or two prior to this one? I made myself a grey wool pair. They are a little shorter though. I shorted them and used one needle size smaller because I don’t like them loose. I’m not sure about the shortened bit though. I cut out one run of the cabling pattern. I’ll post a pic in the next day or so. :p

Crystal’s Irish Hiking Wristwarmers – Pt 2

They are done. Finally done. :) See the previous post to get a glance at the picture of the first one. The second one…looks the same, so I didn’t bother taking a pic. I think they turned out awesome and I can’t wait to make a pair for myself. :)

Ok, I got the one seamed up. :) I’ll have the other one finished this weekend. Pretty in pink, yes??

Ribbed Lace Bolero

Ribbed Lace Bolero « 10 feet high

Yay! I found the shrug to wear to my brother’s wedding (over that strapless dress I bought….to wear in February…Lol….). Except, of course, I’m going to have to knit it. How scary!

Click on the link above to see it. I will be knitting it in black….just haven’t decided on the yarn just yet….

I had a lot of issues with finishing this. You know why??? Because I seamed it….right side in. Yep. That’s the wrong side you’re looking at baby. It doesn’t look half bad, really, but it would be BETTER if I had done it right.

I’m sure the soldier it is going to will love it just the same….Trent couldn’t tell the difference….those who don’t know don’t!

Taking a…break…

But only a slight one, I promise. I’ve got a project I’m finishing up for my friend Heather (because I hated the way her Christmas present had been turning out — I started a new project) and the wristwarmers for Crystal (I got one done and seamed…just need to complete the other one…maybe this weekend??). I’m kind of starting the afghan for my brother’s wedding present….but I’m going to sit on that awhile. Then the absolute must — the shrug I’m making to wear to my brother’s wedding….because my dress has spaghetti straps. I’m going to freeze. Oh, and the other two hats I want to make for the Ships Project.

Anyway….that sounds like a lot, but it’s actually NOT. Most, if not all, of the projects are quick. Weekend jobs….

I keep sitting on that blankie I’m making for Ilee. By the time I actually get it done, it will be a lap blanket, lol… But I’ve never worked on a more boring, never-ending project. Seriously, it NEVER wants to end. Ugh…

Anywho….HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
